I hold a BFA in Theatre Arts from Midwestern State University and spent nearly twenty years as the managing director of a regional theatre, where I directed dozens of productions and led companies of actors, technicians, and volunteers. Earlier in my career I performed as a resident company member at Casa Mañana in Fort Worth as an Equity actor, and I also spent several years as a stand-up comic, which taught me as much about commanding a room as anything I learned in school. I continue to perform today in professional and community productions across North Texas.
For the past two decades I have taught theatre at the high school level, including drama and technical theatre classes for students ages twelve through eighteen, directing full productions and preparing students for auditions and competitions. I have also taught theatre workshops for ages four through adult. My approach is practical and personal: with acting students we work on monologues, scene study, and audition technique with honest, encouraging feedback, and with public speaking students we focus on voice, presence, and turning nervous energy into confidence. Whether you are preparing for an audition, a class presentation, or a boardroom, my goal is to help you walk in feeling ready.
