Prior to my role as a professional tutor, I served in the Air Force for 26 years in various education and training roles, but the one constant throughout my career has been a dedicated focus on empowering students to become effective communicators.
My tutoring approach is to meet students where they are at, build rapport, and equip them with the skills they need to be successful. As a lifelong learner and someone who once struggled with my own studies, I draw on all my education, experience, and knowledge to help students succeed. It is tremendously important to make learning fun, so there is a good chance students will laugh--and learn--while working with me.
Most of my tutoring experience at the community college is with dual credit/dual-enrolled high school students, first-year college students, non-traditional students, and working adults, but I am comfortable working with all ages. Additionally, I am currently pursuing an alternative teacher's certification.
