Best Spanish Tutor We Have Found
Rachel is probably the fifth spanish tutor we have worked with over the past two years. My son started taking spanish in his public school in 6th grade, and was really struggling in that class. At the end of sixth grade, he had barely passed the class and was recommended for summer school in the subject. He worked with a few different tutors over the years to try and help him with grammar concepts and practice speaking out loud, but honestly the money I spent on those tutors was largely wasted. He didn't get much out of it and he found them to be pretty frustrating to work with (and after listening in to a few sessions, I understood why he felt that way -- one tutor basically just told him how to write vocabulary words on index cards and then would quiz him each session, something I was more than capable of doing on my own). Rachel, however, is so much better than those other tutors. She finds ways to make learning spanish engaging for him. After two months of working with Rachel, he's started trying to speak in spanish around the house. And she gave him a quiz last week on what he's learned and he was so proud when he got most of the questions correct. His confidence is improved, he's actually enjoying his tutoring sessions, and my difficult-to-tutor son will say unequivocally that Rachel is the best spanish tutor he's ever had.

I am so grateful that this didn't feel like a high school class repeating, or even the college class where the first thing I memorized was all the names of fruit.
