Knowledgeable and helpful tutor
April was an incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and supportive tutor. She gave me the confidence I needed going into my second NCLEX attempt, and I truly believe she is one of the main reasons I passed. One of the things I appreciated most was her ability to explain the "why" behind every question and answer. She didn't just tell me the correct answer—she helped me understand the clinical reasoning behind it. She taught me how to think through NCLEX-style questions, which was something I really struggled with during my first attempt. Not only did April improve my test-taking strategies, but she also strengthened my understanding of the nursing content itself. Those were the two biggest areas I needed to improve, and she helped me grow in both. Every session was personalized, engaging, and encouraging. She was also flexible with scheduling, reliable, and always communicated well. I completed six sessions with her, and for me, it was the perfect amount of preparation. Overall, April is not only a wonderful tutor but also a genuinely kind and encouraging person. If you're struggling with confidence, need help learning how to answer NCLEX-style questions, or want to strengthen your nursing knowledge at the same time, I cannot recommend her enough. I truly don't think I would have passed my second attempt without her, and I am so grateful for everything she did to help me succeed.

Good for test taking strategies but not for explaining "why" something is happening in depth and nursing management
If you want a tutor to teach you test strategies and help you pass the NCLEX I believe she would be great and sounds extremely knowledgeful on how testing questions are structured and the best approach when answering them. For me, I felt like my learning style vs her teaching style were not compatible. I was more focused on truly understanding the diseases we discussed rather then just knowing how to answer the questions; why is it happening, how do I treat it, what is my patient going to look like physically, what complications can happen and why, what's my priority vs immediate intervention, etc (nursing management). Throughout the session I had to keep asking those things, kind of like if I didn't bring up the same points constantly they would've not been covered; topics such as what do I do if my patient is having a complication? answer she'd give: "assessment will always be your first intervention" (which is great for test strategy), rather than what I was looking for which was going through the each of the steps such as (silly example): "you will start an IV line since pt is dehydrated because this disease does X Y and Z to the body that results in dehydration, then your going to administer X medication to help with Y or do X intervention, you need to watch out for physical signs of X Y Z after adm med/intervention to ensure no worsening/complications, if so you do X Y Z and the physical signs that you're patient is worsening would be X Y Z because the disease causes X Y Z in the body and therefore the pt would show X physical symptoms, etc". I was looking to get more in depth of "why" something is happening and "how would I know that's what's happening". I did feel like I wasn't being heard and to me it wasn't a comfortable teaching session. I didn't know some basic points where she could've slowly explained them. I did feel sometimes she would get frustrated and found her a little inpatient at times. At the eod she did help me with learning, I did get some good stuff out of the session and we did a few practice questions together. Personally I will not have more sessions because I felt like our goals weren't the same and the session did not go as smoothly as it's been with other tutors that were able to adapt to my style of learning.

Finally Passed After My 4th Attempt Thanks To April!!!
April is an amazing tutor, and I cannot recommend her enough. I had 16 amazing sessions with her, and she has such a great, positive aura that made me feel comfortable and supported right away. After three unsuccessful attempts at the NCLEX without her, I finally passed on my fourth try with her help at 88 questions. She is incredibly caring, patient, and very knowledgeable. Whenever I didn’t understand something, she always took the time to explain it in a way that made it click. She also made it clear that she never wanted to be an added stressor in my life, but someone there to support me, and she truly lives by that. April is very flexible and understanding with scheduling, which made a huge difference during such a stressful time. She also helped build my confidence in a way I didn’t have before. I am so grateful for her support, and I highly recommend her to anyone preparing for the NCLEX.
