After college, I spent a year volunteering with the Americorps VISTA program. I worked to set up a College and Career Center in a middle school located in South Central Los Angeles. This was part of a larger initiative to increase college attendance in low-income communities. It was an awesome experience, and I got to travel all over California. When my year of service ended, I went to law school. Though I enjoyed law school, after graduating I decided to do something different and worked in IT for Hewlett-Packard. After resigning from HP, I moved to Dallas and became a copywriter at a marketing firm.
I love to spend time outdoors: snow-skiing, backpacking, fishing/hunting, hanging out at the ranch and with my border collie Jake.
I've loved history since I was young. I've studied it most of my life; both in school and on my own time. I'm passionate about going beyond the "what happened"; rather, I want to know the how, and most importantly the why.
I currently have a flexible schedule. Please contact me if you think I would be a good fit for what you're looking for.
