I work with each study using an individual mentoring approach. Mentoring involves teaching the student the current material as well as giving them additional tools to use in the future. I employ a variety of techniques to help students accomplish their goals. I focus on the strength of the individual and everyone has the potential to learn as long as they have the right tools. Not everyone learns the same, so together we can identify the student's learning style, which will allow them to adapt to course requirements.

I have over 20 years of tutoring and mentoring experience for elementary, middle school, high school, college, and graduate students in all levels of Math and Science, with strong expertise in Algebra and Chemistry at both high school and college levels.

I have served as an instructor at UT Southwestern Medical Center, an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Brookhaven College, and a Professor at Ponce School of Medicine. Taking online students.

I obtained my PhD in genetics studying learning disabilities. Recently, I have worked with children where English is not there first language. I have worked as a clinical research studying learning and memory with children whom had behavioral and attentional difficulties. I have personally conducted neurocognitive testing for over 100 children. In addition, I struggled with a learning disability as a child and was able to overcome those to become a straight A student with the help of techniques I learned in special education. I am also a mother of three whom understands and works with my children everyday to enrich their studies and encourage a bilingual education.

I acquired a PhD in genetics at Texas A&M University in 2003, through my graduate career I taught 3 semesters of genetics laboratory and tutored undergraduate genetics for over three years. I have taken basic genetics, molecular genetics, population genetics, biochemical genetics, behavioral genetics, cytogenetics and developmental genetics courses. I am a genetic researcher whom has used genetics equations and methods daily for last 10 years and am familiar in techniques and applications in genetics for drosophila, mouse and humans.

Great tutor! Matched her teaching style to best suit my granddaughter

This was my granddaughter's first lesson with Summer and she enjoyed the lesson. She felt that this was the first time she actually understood geometry. She is looking forward to future lessons. My granddaughter was very grateful that Summer clearly explained the theory behind the equations.

Adv Chemistry and Adv Alg 2 GREAT!

Summer went over math test and helped my son understand concepts and what he did wrong. He retook the test and did wonderful! Perfect for our Daughter

Summer truly was...She somehow figured a way to take our daughter's LEAST favorite subject and actually make it fun, and make it fun while she's on summer break!!
