I am a certified English teacher with over four years of classroom teaching experience and more than seven years of tutoring experience working with students at various academic levels. I hold a teaching certification in English Language Arts and have taught primarily at the high school level, supporting students in grades 7–12 with reading comprehension, literary analysis, essay writing, and academic skill development. In addition to my classroom experience, I have worked one-on-one with students in tutoring settings both before and during my teaching career, which has allowed me to individualize instruction and adapt my approach to meet each student’s specific needs.
My tutoring experience includes working with students on argumentative and analytical writing, thesis development, textual evidence, and commentary, as well as helping students strengthen grammar, organization, and overall confidence in their writing. I have supported students preparing for standardized assessments, class essays, and long-term writing projects, and I am especially experienced in helping struggling writers break down assignments into manageable steps. I have worked with students in both structured classroom environments and individualized one-on-one settings, which has helped me develop flexible strategies that work for different learning styles and ability levels.
As a tutor, I believe strong relationships and clear expectations are key to student growth. I focus on helping students understand not just what to write, but why certain strategies are effective, so they can apply those skills independently in the future. I aim to create a supportive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence in their abilities. My goal is always to help students become more capable, confident readers and writers who can succeed both academically and beyond the classroom.
