Hi, I’m Travis! I’m a surgeon-scientist with a strong background in engineering and academic research currently an incoming orthopaedic surgery resident. I have been tutoring for over 10 years, including 5 years with a professional MCAT tutoring company, and I now work with students one-on-one to help them succeed in high-stakes standardized exams.

I specialize in tutoring students for the MCAT and USMLE (Step 1 & Step 2) preparation. My engineering training gives me a particular strength in Chem/Phys and Biochemistry, allowing me to break down complex material into clear concepts. Over the years, I have worked with traditional pre-medical students, full-time working professionals, and exam retakers. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering, achieved a 4.0 GPA in my engineering coursework, and received an A in every science course I completed. I scored a 521 on the MCAT (130/128/132/131) and a 271 on USMLE Step 2. In addition, I have published multiple peer-reviewed articles in the orthopaedic literature, which allows me to teach science as an applied, framework rather than just facts.
