I hold a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus in education. I am a licensed registered nurse and hold specialty certifications in maternal–newborn nursing (RNC-MNN) and electronic fetal monitoring (RNC-EFM). My academic and clinical background has given me a strong foundation in subjects such as anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and nursing concepts, which I enjoy teaching and breaking down into manageable, understandable pieces for students.
I currently serve as an Associate Professor teaching nursing students in both classroom and clinical settings. I have several years of experience teaching adult learners in a structured academic environment, as well as one-on-one instruction during clinical rotations. I regularly work with students to strengthen their critical thinking, test-taking strategies, and ability to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios. I have experience supporting students at various levels, from those just starting prerequisite science courses to those preparing for nursing exams.
My teaching approach is supportive, practical, and individualized. I focus on helping students truly understand the “why” behind concepts rather than just memorizing information. I tailor sessions based on each student’s learning style and goals, whether that’s improving grades, preparing for exams, or building confidence in challenging subjects. My goal is to create a comfortable, encouraging environment where students feel supported and capable of success.
