My ability to tutor civil and structural engineering subjects is grounded in both my academic background and my teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels. I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural and Wind Engineering at Florida International University (FIU). I hold a Master’s degree from FIU and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). I also hold Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification from both the Texas and Florida Boards of Professional Engineers, which reflects my familiarity with professional engineering standards and the structure of the Civil FE and PE examinations.
During my doctoral studies, I served as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at FIU, supporting undergraduate courses such as Dynamics of Civil Engineering Systems and Hurricane Engineering and Global Sustainability. In these roles, I assisted with lectures, led problem-solving sessions, held office hours, and graded assignments and exams. I frequently worked one-on-one with students to clarify core engineering concepts such as statics, dynamics, structural analysis, and engineering mechanics—subjects that form the foundation of the Civil FE exam.
In addition, I contributed to graduate-level instruction by helping develop instructional modules for an advanced course on thunderstorm downbursts and structural wind effects. This experience strengthened my ability to explain complex engineering concepts and guide students through analytical problem solving.
A major part of my mentoring experience involves helping civil engineering students prepare for the Civil FE and PE exams. I focus on strengthening conceptual understanding, structured problem-solving strategies, and efficient exam approaches. My goal is to help students build confidence in fundamental engineering principles while preparing them for professional licensure and successful engineering careers.
