I'm Rachel and I want to help you feel more confident in math class. I have both a Bachelor's and Masters in Mathematics and minored in Communication. What does that mean for you? I can be your translator who can explain math topics in a way that you will understand. I want you to finish each tutoring session feeling like you are ready for that next class, quiz, or test. Everyone is able to learn and understand math with a little practice and a teacher who makes the subject approachable. I will tailor my tutoring to your needs and skill level, so you never feel left behind.

I have over 10 years of experience tutoring and teaching middle school pre-algebra through college level mathematics. In the past I have worked at Mathnasium Learning Centers, Technical Colleges, 4 year universities, and a private high school. I have worked one-on-one with students as well as taught in large lecture halls, but no matter the location, my goal is to make sure students leave feeling like they got something out of class and they are looking forward to learning more. I love helping students truly see the why behind a math problem, not just the shortcut that gets the answer. I want to answer your questions, and make sure you can explain what happens in a math problem from start to finish. My favorite subjects to teach and tutor are Algebra and Calculus, but I have experience in many areas of math. Most recently I taught statistics, algebra, and math foundations like problem solving to adult learners.

My approach to tutoring is to meet students at their current level of knowledge and understanding. Taking Calculus but need a little algebra refresher? --- we can do it! Trying to help your kids with homework and feeling lost? --- let's brush up on the basics! Getting ready for your final over the entire Algebra semester? --- let's make a practice test! Together we will work to find the learning method that fits your needs.

Let's begin improving your math skills and confidence today! Send me a message so we can get started.
