Howdy! My name is Stephen and I am a recent summa cum laude graduate from Texas A&M university where I completed my degree in Biomedical sciences. Through this degree I mastered the scientific concepts that permeate the MCAT. Additionally, in May of 2026 I retook the MCAT and scored a 525, with a 132 section score in CARS and BioBiochem. I have been tutoring for five years, and I focus primarily on science courses with a focus on general chemistry and physics. I am now shifting to primarily teach the MCAT, especially CARS. Each of my students has seen significant improvement, and I am personally invested in each one's success. Along the way my ethos on tutoring developed; each student is unique and requires an individual approach. Tutoring companies all try to fit students into a box by teaching their required methods. I personalize my approach for each student.
My initial session with a new student always begins the same, finding out where their strengths are, where their weaknesses lie, and how they best like to learn. I do this either by reviewing a previous test with them working through problems with them, or both. Then we make a study plan together so that time outside of tutoring is structured, productive, and leads smoothly into the next session. The central fact at the center of my teaching style is that I am not here to teach you content, that's what the individual review is for. My role is to teach areas of content that don’t click independently, logic, problem solving, and how to apply the content to unique problems that may appear on a test. During all future sessions we spend the bulk of the time reviewing missed problems, correcting gaps in test taking logic, and explaining tricky content in digestible ways. I excel at breaking down difficult content into simple concepts that are easy to apply and remember.
I would love to take what I have learned and pass it on. Anyone can succeed on the MCAT with the right help. Please feel free to contact me with further questions.
