I specialize in SSAT and ISEE English for grades 6–9 using a structured, supportive approach that builds effective test strategy alongside lasting academic skills. Sessions emphasize clear thinking, efficient pacing, and confident engagement with challenging material.

Instruction focuses on three core areas:

Vocabulary Development
Students grow their vocabulary for SSAT analogies and ISEE sentence completion by learning new words, exploring how words relate to each other, and noticing subtle differences in meaning. Joanie is a great tutor. She has been very accommodating to my daughter's needs for the reading portion of the SSAT. Her patience and suggestions for practice workbooks appears to be yielding dividends. Even though we didn't ask for help on the writing portion of the SSAT, I think that she has also greatly helped.
