I am currently a student at the University of North Texas pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Sciences, where I have developed a strong understanding of how children learn, communicate, and build confidence academically. My coursework has emphasized child development, language acquisition, and social-emotional growth, all of which directly inform how I support students in reading and English. I have also completed classroom observation hours and worked as a teacher’s aide, which has strengthened my ability to adapt to different learning styles and support students in an educational setting.

I have over four years of experience working as an English tutor, primarily in one-on-one settings with elementary and middle school students. In these sessions, I focus on building foundational reading skills, improving comprehension, and strengthening writing abilities. My approach is patient, encouraging, and tailored to each student’s needs. I incorporate strategies such as guided reading, breaking down texts into manageable parts, and using discussion-based techniques to help students better understand what they are reading. I also prioritize creating a comfortable environment where students feel confident asking questions and making mistakes, which I believe is essential for growth.

In addition to formal tutoring, I have extensive experience working with children through nannying, camps, and classroom support roles, which has allowed me to work with a wide range of ages and abilities. These experiences have helped me develop strong communication skills and the ability to keep students engaged while still maintaining structure. My goal as a tutor is not only to improve academic performance but also to help students build confidence in their reading and writing skills so they can become more independent and motivated learners.
