A math PhD with a decade of teaching experience

I have a PhD in math from The University of Texas, Austin, and during the school year I am an instructor there. I have also taught math at a Texas state prison, at the Biriwa, Ghana campus of The African Institute of Mathematical Sciences, and for the educational wing of an American Indian nation, and in each of these settings I designed my own curriculum. While studying at UT my research was supported by a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship.

I am passionate about math, teaching, and equality in education, and I have over a decade of experience helping a diverse collection of students learn math in ways tailor made for their unique learning styles. I help students gain confidence and comfort with tricky mathematical subjects, as well as more general study skills. My approach to each student is different, and I am always drawing from my experiences. I am equally prepared to help an unconfident student struggling with early math skills or an advanced student looking for a challenge.

I have a decade of math research and teaching experience including a math PhD, a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, and teaching work in a Texas state Prison, at The African Institute of Mathematical Sciences in Birwiwa, Ghana, and at the Mashpee Wompanoag American Indian nation’s Native Tribal Scholars Program.
