I am currently an elementary teacher with more than 20 years of experience as a web developer. I teach all core elementary subjects, including reading, math, science, and social studies, while also specializing in web development and programming instruction.

I am proficient in HTML, CSS, SQL, JavaScript, jQuery, and PHP. My background in both education and technology has given me a strong understanding of the challenges students face when learning new skills—whether in math, reading, or computer science. I have helped many students set goals and build confidence as they learn to create their first websites or strengthen their understanding of academic subjects and programming concepts.

In addition to classroom teaching, I was invited to lecture at Tulane University on how information is collected and used on the web. I have also been hired to consult with and train employees on updating and maintaining website infrastructure.

As a teacher, I focus on presenting information in a clear, concise, and engaging way. In my web development classes, students learn not only how each programming language works individually, but also how the languages interact together and are applied in real-world situations.

Each lesson is tailored to the student’s experience level. Students begin by learning the differences between client-side and server-side scripting and how websites are delivered and displayed in a browser. From there, we take a hands-on approach by building websites using HTML, CSS, and jQuery, then progressing into server-side programming with PHP and databases using SQL. Students will eventually learn how to create forms, collect user input, and store information in databases.

I enjoy sharing my experience with students who are interested in web development for personal growth, school assignments, career advancement, or expanding their technical skills.

I don't usually write reviews because I do not trust them but I must say that Ryan is a great tutor. If it wasn't for him I would not have finished the modules that we have worked on so far. We worked on SQL and worked on ER diagrams. He really knows what he was talking about and I finished my assignment with a greater understanding than what my professor taught me in class. 100% Recommend.
