I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in History, with a Minor in Medieval and Renaissance Studies from Texas State University. I am currently a tutor through the Victory Tutorial Program, helping students in Reading and Elementary Mathematics. I am considering going back to school to get my teaching certification and a M. Ed. so that I can be a more effective tutor. I feel that the more knowledge I have to pull from, the greater range of options I have to help my students through their different challenges.
I am currently working with several students on their reading skills, and I have taken several classes in Literature including Shakespeare and British Literature.
History is my passion, which is the reason I went back to school to obtain a degree in it. I have also had the opportunity to travel to Europe and study British and European history first hand.
I have achieved third degree brown belts in both Judo and Kung Fu, and I am still practicing Kung Fu. I also have a green sash in Tai Chi.
I am a flexible tutor, and I believe that learning should be both fun and challenging. I try to instill a love of learning in my students that will last them a lifetime.
