I am a passionate linguist and computer scientist, highly proficient in French, Spanish, and Arabic (MSA, Egyptian, and Levantine). I love language and languages, and love to instill that passion into my students, broadening their horizons through exposure to other cultures. I am a passionate linguist and computer scientist, highly proficient in French, Spanish, and Arabic (MSA, Egyptian, and Levantine). I love language and languages, and love to instill that passion into my students, broadening their horizons through exposure to other cultures. It is satisfying to watch my students grow from shyly stuttering their first words of a new language to becoming conversant on a variety of topics and functions. I am familiar with a range of different curricular styles, and can help your student whether struggling in school, trying to prepare for standardized testing, or just trying to start learning a new language.

I have studied French, Arabic, and Spanish each for many years, in addition to coursework in linguistic theory, second language acquisition, and general language pedagogy. I have accrued a few years of tutoring experience as an on-call tutor at Tufts University where I gave one-on-one tutoring sessions and also led weekly language circles.
In high school, I received an 800 on the French SAT II, as well as a 5 on the Spanish Language AP test.
I lived in Egypt cumulatively for more than a year as well as part of the prestigious CASA (Center for Arabic Study Abroad) Fellowship. Additionally, I've worked both as a TA and a teacher at an Arabic program designed for high school students for four summers.

I minored in Computer Science at Tufts University, wherein I learned more than just any one programming language, the concepts underpinning how programming works: data structures, algorithms, abstract data types, etc. Additionally, I'm familiar with a breadth of applied topics including: frontend development, backend development (web programming), Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, etc. I can help your student learn the basics of programming and provide a window into the larger picture of computer science as both a theoretical and applied discipline.

If you are interested in tutoring, don't hesitate to contact me!
