I have a passion for teaching! I have been a private tutor for over fifteen years and I have over 20 years of teaching experience. I have had many parents comment that their child has never responded to any other teacher the way they have with me. I have an unique talent to engage students in their learning process and encourage them to respond and succeed. My manner is engaging and fun but also firm and direct.
I have three Master's degrees, all relating to educating children: M.Ed in School Psychology, which enables me to assess a student's strengths and weaknesses so I know where to focus the most attention; M.A. in Child Psychology, which enables me to relate to each student and respond with encouragement and build their confidence; M.A. in Special Education (mild to moderate disabilities) current CA Teacher Certification, which enables me to teach students with a wide variety of learning challenges, including ADHD, dyslexia, ASD, processing disorders, and behavior disorders. However, ALL students benefit from the techniques and materials used with special needs students! It just boosts their progress to have one-on-one instruction and attention! If your child is behind or performing below grade level, I will work with them diligently to get them up to speed!
