I have an undergraduate degree in studio art with a concentration in painting. I also have a Masters degree in Art Education and am qualified to teach grades kindergarten through high school (k-12). I have two years of experience teaching all levels of art in the public high schools. I taught my students the fundamentals of all mediums as well as art history in Art I. I expanded on these in Art II, Art III, Art IV, and AP Art. I took students to the Texas state VASE competition (Visual Arts Scholastic Event) both years. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
