I am fully aware of the different approaches to teaching courses in AP Calculus or AP Physics for students who learn differently and assimilate material at different rates. "Eureka Moments" do exist and I know how to evoke that sought- after response in my students.

My high school experiences included summer sessions of advanced concepts in Mathematics and Physics while living at The Hun School of Princeton, Penn State, and Phillips Academy.

My passion for teaching began during my undergraduate years at University of Nebraska – Lincoln, tutoring dorm-mates and participating in the university’s approved teaching internship with a S.T.E.M. faculty member (for 100+ verifiable hours) at both Parkview and Pius X High schools in Lincoln, Nebraska which allowed me to honed my skill and ability to teach Calculus and Physics. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Physics with a minor in Mathematics (Class of 2013) which included college Algebra through Calculus I, II, III, and Differential Equations, a requirement of my original Agricultural Engineering major specializing in circuits and sensors, which comprised the disciplines of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.

After graduating my interest in teaching continued when I worked as a substitute teacher at Lake Travis High School in LTISD for 8 years, while tutoring in the evenings and weekends for Wyzant. Currently, I tutor exclusively online, for over 2,241+ hours, through Wyzant Tutoring Services in Mathematics and Physics..

As a result of my broad background in mathematics, engineering, and physics, I can help you succeed with your academic challenges.

Let’s see what we can accomplish together!!!

Calculus

Calculus

I have a Bachelor's degree in physics with a minor in mathematics and engineering (which includes college-level calculus I, II, and III) coupled with the experience in tutoring and teaching both at the high school and adult, college-level.
Differential Equations

Differential Equations

I have an extensive background in Differential Equations as a result of my dual major in engineering and applied physics at University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I have utilized Differential Equations not only from a mathematical perspective, but also applied differential equations to electrical engineering, physics and other disciplines involving non-static systems such as: engineering dynamics and thermodynamics. The field of Differential Equations can be a fascinating branch of mathematics that combines an individual's math talents into one course. A solid foundation in Differential Equations will allow you, as a student, to appreciate physics, chemistry, and engineering courses from a whole new viewpoint. As a tutor, I believe, Differential Equations are the capstone course for all other pursuits in mathematics and the hard sciences and will allow the student to pursue a myraid of applications ranging from Newton's Law of Cooling, radioactive decay problems used in a bacteria laboratory, computing the lift and drag velocities of a 747 aircraft to the flight path of a fighter plane landing on the deck of a moving aircraft carrier. I will try to provide the student with a mathematical background of Differential Equations plus present a practical application of that knowledge to reinforce the concepts presented.

Knowledgeable and patient

He was patient and really worked to make sure I understood the material. He worked through my homework/practice problems and helped guide me with questions as I worked them out. He was punctual and gave me excellent feedback.

Fun, Engaging, and Knowledgeable

I started attending lessons with William at the beginning of 2025 to help me prepare for college. As a non-traditional student, there are a lot of gaps in my knowledge, especially concerning mathematics. Will has helped me fill those gaps and more. I directly attribute his help to passing my pre-calculus class and preparing for future classes. He’s relaxed, easy going, and fun to chat with which helps break up some of the monotony that can come with learning. He fosters an environment that makes learning fun and engaging. Im incredibly grateful for his help and I’m excited to continue lessons and learn more along with him. I appreciate all the help Will.

Smart, Nice, and Very Helpful

He helped me with plenty of Calculus, physics, and now is helping me with Chemistry and Differential Equations. I highly recommend him, especially if you are going into Engineering.

Excellent tutor

My child has not taken physics in HS, so the physics in college was a huge challenge. Fish out of water… William is patient and knowledgeable. He explained complex concepts in a way that made it easier to understand. Thanks to William my child felt more confident and we saw real improvement in their grades. He always keeps us updated about the progress made and we appreciate that! We highly recommend William!

Excellent tutor

William has provided two tutoring sessions for my 16 year old daughter who has been challenged early on in Honors Algebra 2. In the first session, after introductions, William started by asking my daughter how the class was going and simply asked her what she wanted to work on. My daughter provided some problems, and off they went. I was impressed at his immediate understanding of whatever problem was put before him (strong math background). He lets my daughter work the problem and come to her own solutions and guides her back on the correct path if she makes a mistake. William has a mellow personality and allowed my daughter to set the pace of the sessions. Both sessions were beneficial and her test scores and most importantly confidence are improving. This has been my daughters first experience with a tutor and it has been positive for her. One final thing. At the end of the first session, we had a discussion on the option of dropping the class and continuing in regular algebra. My daughter and I were looking more at the early challenge of the class and the grade, while William suggested also consider picking a level that will keep it challenging, interesting and fun. She was holding a C in the class and he didn't think it was necessary to drop it so early on in the semester. My daughter does like a challenge and chose to stick with the Honors class. Her grade is improving, her confidence is increasing, and part of this is due to William's assessment of her abilities in the first session.

Great Tutor!

William is working with my son in his AP Physics class. My son has repeatedly said that his tutoring is helping him immensely with the class. My son is stressed about the AP test but is starting to feel better about it as he gets more tutoring. I highly recommend William!

Detailed and thorough

William did a great job of walking my son through his AP Physics work. He broke down the problems in a way that made them easier to understand, and made sure that my son understood the material before moving forward. William clearly has a great depth of knowledge in Physics, and knows how to convey the material at the level that it is presented to the learner.

Patient tutor

William provided a very detailed class summary after he taught my daughter the physics C class with good and patient explanations. I'll continue to work with William if needed

big help

He has moved my senior AP physics student forward and been on time and very knowledgable of subject matter. we would recommend him and he is affordable - more so than many others on this platform.
