Hi, I’m Josh! I’m a product manager & overall tech nerd with over a decade of experience in tech and a knack for explaining things in a way that makes sense. I love helping people become more confident and capable with technology. Over the years, I’ve taught colleagues, friends, and new team members everything from Linux basics to advanced spreadsheet modeling. My style is approachable, flexible, and focused on making sure you leave each session with practical skills you can use immediately.

What I Teach
- Linux: From command-line basics to system customization and troubleshooting.
- Career Development (Product Management): Resume and interview prep, career strategy, and practical guidance from someone who’s been in the role for 9+ years.
- General Computer Skills: Building confidence with technology, solving common problems, and developing best practices for everyday use.
- Macintosh / macOS: System setup, productivity tips, troubleshooting, and getting the most out of Apple’s ecosystem.

How I Work
Every student is different. Some want a structured path (like “learn Linux step by step”), while others come with specific challenges (“help me fix this spreadsheet today”). I’m flexible—I’ll meet you where you are. During our first session, we’ll clarify your goals and learning style, and I’ll tailor the plan from there.

Why Work With Me
I bring real-world experience from tech and product management. I focus on clear, practical explanations, and I’ll adapt to your pace.

My goal is simple: to make technology feel less intimidating and more empowering for you.

Career Development

Career Development

I have worked in Product Management for 9 years and spent over a decade in the tech industry. I started in Customer Support, transitioned to Product Manager, and went from a junior Product Manager to a Senior Manager of Product with a team of four. I've conducted nearly 100 interviews as both a team member and the hiring manager, and been on the other side of the interview questions many times as well. If you are looking to break into Product Management, I can provide you with great insight, tailored to your situation and communicated in a clear and easy-to-understand manner
General Computer

General Computer

I am a computer enthusiast (perhaps even obsessive). I have been using Macs since 2004, and know my way around OS X like the back of my hand. In previous jobs I was the de facto tech support and computer procperson for all my colleagues. I can teach you general Mac know-how, tailor lessons to switching from Windows, teach you how to set up networks, how to accomplish your goals in your favorite software, or even how to use keyboard shortcuts to speed up your most common tasks. I am an excellent communicator and can explain difficult concepts in clear, easy language.
Linux

Linux

I love Linux. I've been using it off and on since 1999, and as my primary computer for the past 5 years. I've used Arch and Arch-based distros, Fedora, Ubuntu, and others. Within those distros, I've used KDE, hyprland, Gnome, and Openbox. I'm very comfortable in the command line. I'm also an Emacs nerd. I'm an excellent communicator who can easily tailor lessons to what you want to learn and ensure that you come away with the knowledge you're seeking.
