I'm a senior at the University of Texas at Austin, majoring in neuroscience with a minor in American Sign Language and a certificate in pre-health studies. I genuinely enjoyed the classes that got me here, and that curiosity is a big part of why I love explaining these topics to others. As a teaching assistant for a biology course, I create review materials and answer student questions, which has shown me where students most often get stuck and what it takes to get them moving again. Teaching through that job has become one of my favorite parts of college, and I'm excited to bring that energy to one-on-one sessions.

My approach starts with you. Everyone learns differently, so my first goal is to figure out how you take in information best, whether that's visual diagrams, talking concepts through out loud, working practice problems, or breaking things down step by step. Once I know what works, I shape each session around it, so you're not sitting through a generic lecture. My TA role is usually with groups, but I've also worked one-on-one with students, and I find the individual setting especially rewarding because I can adjust in real time to exactly what you need.

I've worked with students at many levels. In high school, I helped an elementary school student build their reading and writing skills, and I supported another high school student through geometry. Those experiences taught me how to be patient, encouraging, and clear, and how to meet a student where they are rather than where a textbook assumes they should be. I am excited to help with any age or subject and I am ready to find out how to make the student feel more confident!
