I’m a student at the University of Texas at Austin with a 3.95 GPA, studying Sociology while completing the pre-health curriculum. My science coursework includes biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, and biochemistry. I am also EMT certified and have experience in medical research and clinical settings, which has given me opportunities to apply many of the concepts I’ve learned beyond the classroom.
At UT, I work as a Biology Peer Mentor and Undergraduate Course Assistant in an undergraduate biology laboratory. I help students work through scientific concepts, laboratory procedures, and experimental reasoning using guided questions rather than simply giving them the answer. I have also spent four years caring for children ages 2–12 and have experience working with pediatric patients, so I am comfortable communicating with students of different ages and adjusting how I explain something based on the individual.
I tutor biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, and biochemistry. My approach is to break complicated topics into smaller steps, identify exactly where a student is getting stuck, and then use practice problems, diagrams, and different explanations until the concept makes sense. I especially enjoy helping students understand the reasoning behind a problem rather than relying only on memorization. Whether a student needs help learning new material, preparing for an exam, or strengthening concepts they have struggled with, I tailor sessions to their individual needs.
