I am an experienced mathematics educator with more than 16 years of teaching experience across different educational settings. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a master’s degree in Mathematics Teacher Education from the University of Rochester, New York. Throughout my career, I have taught mathematics to middle and high school students in classroom, small-group, individual settings and online. My experience includes Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Precalculus, AP Calculus, Cambridge International AS & A Level Mathematics (9709), including Pure Mathematics (P1 and P3), as well as IB Mathematics at both Standard Level (SL) and Higher Level (HL).
My approach to tutoring focuses on understanding rather than memorization. I help students identify gaps in prerequisite knowledge, strengthen those skills, and then build toward more challenging concepts. I use worked examples, guided practice, questioning, visual representations, and real-world applications where appropriate. I also encourage students to explain their reasoning so that misconceptions can be identified and addressed.
I also work with adult learners who are returning to mathematics for college, career preparation, professional development, or to rebuild their confidence and foundational skills.
I currently teach middle and high school mathematics in the United States, including Algebra and AP Calculus. My international teaching experience has also given me familiarity with different mathematics curricula and approaches. Whether a student needs support with foundational algebra, Cambridge or IB Mathematics, exam preparation, or advanced calculus, my goal is to provide patient, structured instruction that develops mathematical understanding, problem-solving skills, and confidence.
