My name is Eric, and I hold the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation from The American College of Financial Services, together with an active Texas Life and Health insurance license. For about twenty years I have worked in life insurance and annuity distribution, in roles at insurance carriers and producer groups, and today I serve as a senior business development executive at a wealth planning firm. That background means I do not simply know the exam material in the abstract; I have applied these concepts in real policies and real client situations throughout my career.
For the past five years I have tutored adults one on one for their Life and Health licensing exams, much of it on a volunteer basis while helping new agents and career changers get started, and I currently coach licensing students through an online tutoring platform as well. My students come from several states, and I teach directly from each state's official exam content outline so we focus on exactly what will be tested. Rather than rote memorization, I first diagnose where a student is actually losing points, then teach concepts through real policy situations from my career, using classification frameworks and active questioning so the material sticks. We also practice under exam-like conditions to build timing and confidence.
I am also a published author and writing coach, which has sharpened my ability to translate complex, jargon-heavy material into plain language that busy adults can grasp quickly. To date, every student I have prepared one on one has gone on to pass their licensing exam. Whether you are a brand-new agent, a career changer, or someone who has struggled with a previous attempt, I will meet you where you are and build a focused plan to get you licensed. Reach out and let's map the clearest path to passing your Life and Health exam.

Approved Subjects

Business

Business

I bring two decades of hands-on business experience in financial services, including leadership roles at insurance carriers, producer groups, and currently as a Vice President of Business Development at a wealth planning firm. My day-to-day work spans sales strategy, partnership development, client relationship management, and analyzing complex financial cases, so I teach business concepts the way they actually operate in practice. I hold the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation from The American College of Financial Services and have coached students through licensing exams with a first-time pass rate of over 90%. I also tutor college students in introductory accounting, economics, and finance-career interview prep. My sessions connect textbook frameworks to real decisions, so students understand the reasoning behind the answers.
Essay Writing

Essay Writing

I'm a published science fiction author and the founder of Outline Outpost, a writing coaching platform where I teach writers to plan, structure, and revise their work through a structured system. I bring the same approach to essay writing, helping students build a clear thesis, support each claim with evidence, and write the analysis that explains why the evidence matters. Twenty years of business writing, from client proposals to sales content, has also taught me how to write persuasively for a real audience. I never write students' sentences for them; I ask questions and model techniques so they leave each session able to revise their own work.
Fiction Writing

Fiction Writing

I'm the published author of a science fiction series and the founder of Outline Outpost, a coaching platform where I help writers move from a rough idea to a finished, structured story. My coaching covers the whole craft: outlining, character development, worldbuilding, pacing, and revision, and I work with writers in any genre, not just science fiction. I use a structured system that breaks a novel or short story into manageable stages, which helps writers who stall in the middle or struggle to finish drafts. My sessions are built around questions and targeted feedback, so students make the creative decisions and develop their own voice.
Series 6

Series 6

I have spent two decades in life insurance and annuity distribution, working with variable annuities, investment-linked products, and the advisors who sell them at carriers, producer groups, and now a wealth planning firm. That experience lets me explain investment company products, suitability, and regulatory rules in the context of real client conversations instead of memorized definitions. I coach students through securities and insurance licensing exams, and over 90% of my students pass on the first attempt. I teach to the official exam outline and show students how to break down each question stem so they can eliminate wrong answers with confidence.
Series 63

Series 63

For two decades I have worked in state-regulated financial distribution at carriers, producer groups, and now a wealth planning firm, where compliance, disclosure, and ethical sales practices shape every client interaction. I use that experience to make the Series 63's state securities laws, registration rules, and NASAA ethics standards concrete, so students see why each rule exists and how it applies in practice. I coach students through licensing exams with a first-time pass rate of over 90%, teaching to the official exam outline. Because the Series 63 tests rule details through tricky wording, I train students to analyze each question stem so they can spot the exception and avoid the distractor answers.
Series 65

Series 65

I bring two decades of financial services experience, including my current role at a wealth planning firm that handles advanced planning and premium finance cases for high-net-worth clients. That work gives me practical context for the Series 65's core areas: client profiling, investment strategies, portfolio recommendations, and the fiduciary duty that separates investment adviser representatives from salespeople. I hold the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation and coach students through licensing exams with a first-time pass rate of over 90%. I teach to the official NASAA exam outline and train students to analyze each question stem, which matters on an exam built around scenario-based recommendations.
SIE Exam (Securities)

SIE Exam (Securities)

I have spent two decades in financial services at carriers, producer groups, and a wealth planning firm, so I can explain markets, investment products, and industry regulation the way they work in practice. The SIE is often a candidate's first exposure to the securities industry, and I specialize in making unfamiliar terms like options, municipal bonds, and FINRA rules understandable for beginners. I hold the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation and coach students through licensing exams with a first-time pass rate of over 90%. I teach to the official FINRA content outline and show students how to break down each question stem, a skill that carries over to the Series 6, 7, and other top-off exams.
