Hi! I’m Jazzmyn, an experienced math educator and tutor specializing in Algebra I and Algebra II. With more than six years of experience tutoring students in math and STEM subjects, as well as experience teaching high school Algebra in the classroom, I’ve had the opportunity to work with students with many different learning styles, strengths, and levels of confidence.

I earned my bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin and my Master of Public Health from UTHealth Houston. My academic and professional background has also given me extensive experience with mathematics, statistics, and quantitative problem-solving.

My goal is to help students truly understand why a problem works rather than simply memorizing a set of steps. I break challenging concepts into smaller, manageable pieces and work through problems alongside my students until they feel comfortable tackling them independently. I can help with solving equations and inequalities, linear equations, slope and graphing, systems of equations, exponents and radicals, polynomials and factoring, quadratic equations and functions, word problems, homework and test preparation, and strengthening foundational math skills.

I especially enjoy working with students who feel frustrated, discouraged, or intimidated by math. One of my greatest passions as an educator is empowering students and helping them recognize just how capable they are. I believe patience, encouragement, and clear explanations can make a huge difference not only in a student’s grades, but also in how they see themselves as learners.

Whether your student needs ongoing Algebra support, help catching up, or focused preparation for an upcoming test, I’ll tailor our sessions to their individual needs and learning style. Ultimately, my goal is for students to leave our sessions feeling more confident, more independent, and proud of what they are capable of accomplishing.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I have over six years of STEM tutoring experience, including one year teaching high school Algebra, and I hold both a BS and an MPH. I love helping students realize that Algebra does not have to feel intimidating or overwhelming, and I break concepts down into clear, manageable steps while creating a patient and encouraging space to learn. At the heart of my teaching is a passion for empowering others and helping students recognize just how capable they are, especially when they begin to believe in themselves and their ability to succeed. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to build the confidence and problem-solving skills they can carry with them long after our sessions end.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I have over six years of STEM tutoring experience and have taught high school math, giving me experience helping students work through both foundational and more advanced algebra concepts. I enjoy breaking challenging topics into clear, manageable steps and helping students understand the “why” behind the math rather than relying on memorization alone. At the heart of my teaching is a passion for empowering others and helping students recognize what they are truly capable of, especially when a subject has previously felt difficult or intimidating. I strive to create a patient, encouraging learning environment where students can build confidence, strengthen their problem-solving skills, and feel proud of their progress.
