Hi! I'm Daniella, a former middle school math teacher with five years of experience working with 6th-8th grade students. I specialize in helping students strengthen foundational math skills, tackle challenging coursework, prepare for exams, and (most importantly) build confidence in math.

During my years in the classroom, some of my favorite moments came from working one-on-one or in small groups with students who felt frustrated or unsure about math. I love helping students break difficult concepts into manageable steps and reach that moment when "I don't get it" becomes "I've got this."

My approach is encouraging, patient, and tailored to each student's learning style. Whether we're working through homework, filling in foundational gaps, preparing for a test, or getting ahead in class, I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and understanding why the math works, not just memorizing steps.

I've since transitioned from education into the tech industry, but I've continued tutoring because I genuinely miss working with students. I hold an M.Ed. and an MBA from the University of Michigan (Go Blue!), and I bring both my classroom experience and my love of problem-solving to every session.

I help students build a strong foundation in algebraic thinking, including equations, inequalities, functions, graphing, and word problems. My approach is patient and encouraging, with a focus on breaking challenging concepts into manageable steps. I want students to understand why the math works while building the confidence to solve problems independently.
Common Core

Common Core

I have five years of experience teaching middle school math using curriculum and standards aligned with Common Core standards. I have experience helping 6th-8th grade students develop grade-level skills while identifying and addressing gaps in foundational knowledge. I focus on helping students understand the reasoning behind math concepts rather than simply memorizing procedures. I can also support students with homework, test preparation, and building confidence with Common Core math concepts.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

As a former middle school math teacher, I have extensive experience helping students strengthen the foundational skills needed for long-term success in math. I can support students with fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, operations, word problems, and other core elementary math concepts. I'm especially skilled at identifying gaps in understanding and breaking concepts into clear, manageable steps. My goal is to help students build both strong math skills and confidence in their abilities.

Prealgebra

I have five years of experience teaching middle school math, with prealgebra concepts at the core of my classroom experience. I help students build confidence with fractions, ratios, proportions, percentages, expressions, equations, inequalities, and other foundational skills needed for success in Algebra 1. I'm skilled at identifying gaps in understanding and breaking challenging concepts into clear, manageable steps. My goal is to help students understand the "why" behind the math and become more confident, independent problem-solvers.
STAAR

STAAR

I have five years of experience teaching middle school math in North Carolina, including preparing 6th-8th grade students for state standardized assessments. Now based in Texas, I can help students prepare for STAAR Math by reviewing grade-level concepts, identifying skill gaps, and practicing test-style problems. My approach focuses on both conceptual understanding and problem-solving strategies so students feel more confident approaching unfamiliar questions. I tailor each session to the student's specific areas of need.
