At 16, I volunteered in Romania teaching English to incoming high school students, developing a short curriculum, administering assessments, and tracking student progress. That experience sparked a genuine passion for helping others understand things, which has stayed with me ever since. I'm a recent graduate of ETH Zurich's Computational Science program at the department of Mathematics, where I completed both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees with a major specialization in Physics. My Bachelor's thesis was completed at Harvard University under Prof. Petros Koumoutsakos, where I developed a multi-agent reinforcement learning framework for solving chaotic PDEs. My Master's thesis focused on generative AI methods for molecular design at EPFL. Before beginning my PhD at the Austrian Academy of Sciences this fall, I wanted to spend the summer doing what I've genuinely enjoyed throughout my academic life: helping students build real understanding and problem-solving confidence.
My formal teaching experience includes serving as a Teaching Assistant for a Linear Algebra course at ETH Zurich, where I supported 30+ undergraduate students through weekly office hours, created supplementary materials and lecture recapitulations, and graded assignments. Beyond that role, I have worked with individual students across a range of mathematical subjects from Algebra through Differential Equations, both at the high school and early university level. My technical background spans applied mathematics, numerical methods, stochastic processes, probability, and machine learning, giving me the depth to support students not just with specific problems, but with the underlying reasoning.
My tutoring approach is conversational and student-driven. I'd rather ask the right question than give the right answer, and let students think things through with guidance. I adapt to each student's pace, background, and goals, and tailor each session accordingly. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a session!
