Hey folks! I'm Trevor - A professional MCAT instructor and tutor with more than four years of experience helping students improve their scores and gain admission to medical school. After scoring a 509 on my first attempt, I completely rebuilt my approach to studying and ultimately earned a 524 on a subsequent exam. That experience shaped the way I teach today. Rather than focusing solely on content memorization, I help students develop the critical reasoning, passage analysis, and test-taking skills that high-scoring students use on exam day.
I currently work as an MCAT instructor and tutor for Blueprint MCAT, where I have taught students in both classroom and one-on-one settings. Over the years, I have worked with students across a wide range of starting scores, from those struggling to break 500 to students aiming for 520+. Through this experience, I have developed structured systems for reviewing practice exams, approaching CARS passages, analyzing science passages, and identifying the highest-yield opportunities for score improvement. My goal is not simply to help students answer today's questions correctly, but to teach them how to think through unfamiliar questions independently.
In addition to teaching, I am completing a Master's degree in Exercise Physiology at the University of Texas at Austin, where I conduct research on glucose metabolism and exercise interventions. My academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in Biology and extensive coursework in the biological and physical sciences tested on the MCAT. I am also the creator of MCATbyTrev, an educational platform where I publish articles and resources on MCAT strategy, study planning, and critical reasoning. Whether a student needs help building a study schedule, mastering difficult science concepts, improving CARS performance, or refining their overall approach to the exam, I strive to provide practical, individualized guidance that produces measurable results.
