Hi! I'm Kathryn, a senior Biology major at the University of Texas at Austin holding both a Pre-Med Certificate and a Forensic Science Certificate. My passion for science has taken me from the classroom to the research lab, where I work on DNA sequencing projects involving plant genetics. Through my coursework and research experience, I've developed a strong foundation in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Genetics, and scientific problem-solving.
Over the years, I've spent a lot of time helping classmates, friends, and younger students work through challenging concepts in both science and math. Whether it was preparing for an exam, breaking down complex biological processes, or helping someone understand a difficult math problem, I discovered that I genuinely enjoy finding new ways to explain concepts until they finally click.
One thing I've learned throughout my academic journey is that success in STEM subjects often comes down to building strong problem-solving skills and confidence. Mathematics, in particular, has played a huge role in my success in biology research and science courses, teaching me how to think critically, analyze data, and approach complex problems step by step. These are skills I love helping students develop for themselves.
My tutoring style is patient, encouraging, and strategy-focused. Whether you're working to improve your math skills, pass Introductory Biology, prepare for AP Biology, or strengthen your overall study habits, I'll meet you where you are and help create a plan that fits your learning style. I'm also happy to share insights about pre-med coursework, undergraduate research, and navigating college science classes for students interested in those paths.
