I was accepted into UT Austin as an out of state student into its most competitive program, the Plan II Interdisciplinary Honors Program. I majored in sociology, anthropology, and media studies with a goal to pursue a PhD and become a professor. I graduated with honors with a 3.96 GPA and have tutored throughout undergrad and in high school, primarily tutoring within the National Honors Society and later for the Texas Athletics Program. I specialize in essay writing, college admissions essays, ACT prep (33 overall, 36 in English, 36 in Reading, 11/12 in Writing), and all high school or college level English, history, or humanities subjects. I approach tutoring with a very interactive and motivational angle, understanding that most students are more capable than they know but sometimes need a new angle to understanding material. I cater each tutoring experience based on the learning style of each student, using my humanities training to understand each student's underlying skills and struggles.
I have done one-on-one tutoring, subject specific tutoring, college application guidance, remedial tutoring, essay structure and fine tuning, and TA-ship in undergraduate. I work best with high-school through college ages but am happy to tutor middle school as well.
