Current UT Austin Pre-Med Student - Online Tutor

Hello! I'm Sofia, a current freshman at UT Austin majoring in Health and Society on the pre-med track. I've always loved to assist others in learning and pursuing their interests. I have actually been a gymnastics coach for 5 years now and it has fueled my passion for teaching others. I don't have any formal experience tutoring others, however I'm ready to apply my personal classroom experience as well as my years of helping my younger siblings with homework to my students.

In school I excelled in science courses such as Biology and Chemistry, as well as an assortment of math courses. I feel confident in my abilities to help students in their understanding in subjects such as high school Biology and Chemistry, as well as AP Biology and AP Chemistry, and math classes such as Pre-algebra and Algebra 1. I took 11 AP classes in high school, and was awarded AP Scholar with Distinction by College Board. I'm dedicated to helping students not only with test prep and grade improvements but also confidence in the subject.

I want to benefit the students as much as I can, therefore before lessons I will create lesson plans to map out what topics to focus on. During lessons I will help workout out difficult concepts or problems, and additionally provide practice problems. I intend to target areas where students feel least confident, and am always communicating and adapting to students' needs.
