Hello, my name is Frank and I welcome you as potential students. I have a four year college degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin where I graduated with honors. I owned my own tutoring business some time ago at the college and high school level. I tutor in pre-algebra, algebra 1, algebra 2 and Data Structures. I have post graduate work in Education from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas where I was studying to be a secondary school teacher in math and physics. I did some student teaching at Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio where I went to high school when I was a teenager.

I have taught one on one tutoring for 4 years. I like to prepare my students to be able to take tests by themselves, and make good scores. I have done some substitute teaching at the high school level in San Antonio, Texas. I treat all my students with the respect they deserve, and don't talk down to them. Everyone is made in the image of God and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I took math for 4 years in high school, and 16 hours of calculus in college. I know Algebra 1, and I think I can help. I have a degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I took advanced math in high school and never made below an A. I took 16 hours worth of courses in college in Calculus and Advanced Calculus. I know I am very qualified to teach and tutor Algebra 2 as I know it like the back of my hand. I love math and hope to inspire you to give math a chance, and like it too.. It helps to like it more, if you understand it better, and I can help you like that. Best to you, and happy math.
Data Structures

Data Structures

I have 40+ years of computer programming skills. i have had 2 formal courses in data structures, namely, Data Structures I and Data Structures II. I have experience with linked lists, namely first in first out lists and last in first out lists, circular linked lists, and binary trees. I have programmed linked lists in C#, C++, JAVA, and Swift. I am ready to share my skills with you as you journey through the world of programming and data structures.
Fortran

Fortran

In college, I took a course named Engineering Computation. We learned to compute the area under the curve, matrix multiplication, matrix determinate computation, and matrix and vector algebra using Fortran. This was a 4 hour lab course and I made an A. At General Dynamics, I maintained an 2000 line Fortran program for the Heads Up Display, Lock on Target and Radar Navigation cockpit computer for the F-16 fighter aircraft. This involved travel to Westinghouse in Washington D.C. to consult with their Software Engineer. At NASA, I maintained a 1500 line Fortran program for the cockpit communication system for the space shuttle simulator/astronaut trainer. This controlled the 7 way communication between the pilot, co-pilot, Navigator and Mission Specialists. At Brooks AFB in San Antonio, I developed and wrote a Fortran program named BODARS , which stood for Bivariate Outlier Detection and Removal System. This program aided in the data analysis on data collected from a laboratory of 30 microcomputers which administered psychological tests on Air Force recruits. At The Psychological Corporation, I rewrote and maintained a Fortran program named TRIAN, a 3 parameter model for psychological testing and data analysis. I did further work documenting Fortran programs for the Randolph Air Force Base HR Department. I have also used Fortran 90 on my Apple Computer at home as a hobby.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

I took advanced courses in Algebra when I was in high school. I also took geometry and trigonometry in high school, as well as Calculus 1. I went on to take 16 semester hours of Calculus in college. I love math, and I think I might inspire your student to enjoy math and understand it better. Pre-Algebra is an important course in the development of further math skills for your student to conquer, and I think I can help.
