My name is Tori! In 2022, I earned my Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, where I graduated with honors and received recognition for excellence in legal writing. Before law school, I completed my undergraduate studies with a double major in Political Science and Plan II interdisciplinary studies, graduating with high honors. Throughout my academic journey, I developed a deep understanding of how to craft compelling personal narratives—skills that directly inform my approach to tutoring college and law school admissions essays.
I have extensive experience working with students on application essays at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. In college, I tutored high school seniors—many of whom were first-generation college applicants—on their personal statements and supplemental essays. I continued this work in law school, where I was a TA who regularly graded and reviewed undergraduate essays. My feedback focuses on helping students develop a strong voice, tell authentic stories, and connect their experiences to their academic and professional goals. I understand what admissions committees are looking for, and I work with students to ensure their essays are not only polished but also personal and persuasive.
As a practicing attorney, I regularly write and edit documents that require clarity, structure, and a persuasive tone—skills that align closely with effective admissions writing. I also mentor undergraduates and interns, providing feedback on their written work and coaching them through professional development tasks like cover letters and personal statements. I bring this same clarity and precision to my tutoring, helping each student refine their ideas and present themselves in the strongest possible light.
