Howdy! I’m a Texas-certified Language Arts and History teacher with six years of classroom experience spanning PreK through 12th grade, along with reading intervention training in teaching students with learning differences such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and ADHD. While it’s fulfilling working in classrooms, my teaching heart is with tutoring—where I can connect with students one-on-one and support their individual growth.

I bring over 15 years of experience tutoring in learning centers such as Sylvan and Huntington, working with students from elementary through college level improve their reading and writing skills, whether it be to write a college essay or get caught up in reading. I believe that making the right connection is vital to helping a student excel, which is why I value communication and feedback from the families I work with. My teaching style is a hearty mix of humor, encouragement, and targeted skills coaching to keep students engaged and making progress, whether online or in-person. I’m known for helping students build both confidence and capability, and I’m committed to finding the approach that works best for each learner, whether the need is enrichment or to catch up.

My tutoring focus areas include beginning reading with phonics and sight word instruction, reading comprehension, ELA/English I–IV support, handwriting (manuscript or cursive – in-person only), essay and creative writing, ISEE/SSAT prep, and study skills coaching with homework support.
