Hello! I live in Austin, TX, where I am currently a 4th year PhD student in Computational Science, Engineering, and Mathematics at the Oden Institute at The University of Texas at Austin. I graduated with a B.S. Computational Engineering from UT Austin in 2020.

Part of the reason I pursued a PhD is my passion for teaching others. My tutoring experience began at Mathnasium, tutoring middle and high school students. At Mathnasium, I learned to employ the Socratic Method of teaching, which employs conversational methods to stimulate critical thinking.

I continued to employ these pedagogical skills during undergrad, when I was a Teaching Assistant for Engineering Physics II. As TA, I taught topics such as Electromagnetism and Circuits. During my time as a TA, I held one-on-one office hours and recitation groups of 3-50 students. I continued to volunteer tutor when I started my PhD, tutoring linear algebra, probability, and python to master's students.

My experiences have taught me that every brain is a little different. Thus, I strongly believe the value of a good instructor is as much the ability to tailor explanations to the student, as is proficiency with the subject. This is why I take a slow, deliberate approach by spending time figuring out the limits of the student's understanding and developing the student's own mental models. This ensures that my students feel confident in tackling any future problems without me. Please feel free to reach out with any additional questions or to schedule any lessons!
