Prize-winning Oxford PhD and Former Lecturer

I am an experienced tutor, dedicated to helping students achieve their full potential. I spent over ten years at Oxford University, doing a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree, a PhD in English Literature, and then teaching as a lecturer and working as a postdoctoral researcher. In 2022, I moved to the United States.

At Oxford, my Master’s degree was awarded with Distinction and my Bachelor’s degree with First Class Honours and a top-ten prize from the university for high performance. My PhD was passed by the examiners with no corrections (which is a rare occurrence). During my time in Oxford, I received a number of awards for writing.

Since starting to teach during my first doctorate, I have accumulated over seven years of university-level teaching experience, dealing with students from both the UK and the US. Through experience of guiding group discussion in the classroom and fostering individual growth through tailor-made tutorials, I have developed a crisp teaching approach that adapts well to varied settings.

Over the years, I have developed detailed lesson plans and flexible syllabuses to bring out the best in the widest possible range of students. Many of my previous students, primarily within the undergraduate age range (roughly 18-22), have gone on to achieve success in applying for graduate degrees in top departments at respected institutions, including Cambridge University’s Department of English, The London School of Economics’s Department of Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method, and Brooklyn College’s Creative Writing Program.
