I am an award-winning journalist, editorial designer and photographer with more than 20 years of professional experience in daily newspaper and magazine production. I hold degrees in journalism and mass communication and have built my career around visual storytelling, publication design, photography and clear communication shaped by real newsroom deadlines and professional publishing environments. I currently lead publication design for multiple newspapers, bringing daily hands-on experience to the skills I teach students.

I have taught editorial design, copy editing and reporting at the university level in classroom settings, working with college students developing writing, layout, research and digital media skills. I have also mentored early-career journalists, designers and photographers through one-on-one instruction and professional collaboration. My teaching emphasizes practical understanding, helping students learn not only how to complete assignments but how professional communication and media production function in real-world environments.

I work with students at a range of experience levels, from beginners learning core fundamentals to advanced learners preparing for journalism, design or media careers. Lessons are tailored to individual goals and learning styles, whether students need help with coursework, portfolio development or professional skill-building. My goal is to make complex concepts approachable while helping students build confidence and develop skills they can immediately apply in academic or professional settings.
