I am a former high school and middle school teacher with 34 years of experience having spent the last 16 years of my career teaching English and speech. As a public school teacher, I rarely got to work with students one on one, and it frustrated me because, on the rare occasions when I had time to give a student individual attention, it was obvious that it helped them so much more than when my attention was split among so many students.

I am a former high school and middle school teacher with 34 years of experience having spent the last 16 years of my career teaching English and speech. As a public school teacher, I rarely got to work with students one on one, and it frustrated me because, on the rare occasions when I had time to give a student individual attention, it was obvious that it helped them so much more than when my attention was split among so many students.

I will make an outstanding tutor because I have excellent grammar and writing skills coupled with an extensive knowledge of literature as well as a love of research. At my school, students were required to write research papers every year and I became an expert at helping students accomplish this difficult task. My experience as an SAT test prep coach is also a great asset, as is my experience preparing students for the STAAR tests.

The last 16 years of my teaching were spent in the English classroom. I taught freshmen for four years, juniors for seven, and seniors for five. Our school required that every student submit a research paper every year using MLA formatting, so I have loads of experience helping with that process.
