I received my PhD in physics from the University of Manoa. I'm also a certified (Florida) classroom teacher. I've taught courses from astronomy, physical science, chemistry, physics, and all levels of AP physics. Some of my previous students are currently attending schools such as: Brown, Duke, Harvard, and more.

I work with my students to make learning fun and rewarding. Traditionally, tutoring is used as catch up or hour review sessions that only occasionally lead to long term educational benefits. I believe that the best way to teach is to identify student's strengths and weaknesses so that they can move at their own pace and learn in the way that best suits them. In my years as a classroom physics and chemistry teacher I've come to know that all students have unique learning styles, and I work with my students to create individual learning plans so that students not only get the most out of their time, but also become empowered and self motivated learners.

I've help students score perfect on SAT, GRE, AP calculus AB / BC coursework. I've been actively tutoring and teaching for over ten years both professionally at the high school and university levels, as well as privately. I have several years of AP physics B/C teaching experience. I have taught AP physics C Mechanics and APC Mech in a single year condensed course where I have had nearly 100% pass rate on both exams.

I'm looking for students who want to be challenged, for students who want to know how to apply school to real life, and even students who are currently struggling, but want to apply their expertise!

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I have been a classroom physics teachers for the past three years. I have taught a condensed year AP Physics C with calculus course, I have a BS in physics, a Masters in Education, and I am a graduate PhD student in Physics currently enrolled at UH manoa At my high school I taught an afterschool SAT and ACT section. In undergraduate I worked for Kaplan tutoring both the MCAT and the GRE
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I have been a physics teacher for the past four years. In physics I routinely use and go over all of high school algebra 2 and precalculus to methods of problem solving. I have also designed dozens of my own lessons for students to understand specific algebra concepts.
Astronomy

Astronomy

I have been an astronomy adjunct professor for the past two years at a local university. I have experience in designing lesson plans, as well as labs to instruct students based on methods of observation. I have created dozens of my own lesson plans of astronomical principles ranging from middle school planetary science to undergraduate level cosmology lessons where students study the big bang.
C++

C++

I have several years experience in writing custom data acquisition software, embedded software, analysis software, applications, and simulation software all based in C++. Data acquisition applications, simulation, and applications are based on ROOT and Geant4 applications which are commonly used in high energy physics experiments. I have experience in data acquisition and embedded software implementation from my exposure and experience in implementing custom table-top neutron imaging detectors.
Calculus

Calculus

I have been a classroom physics teacher for the past three years. In my classroom I taught after school review sessions, and created lesson plans specifically to teach and instruct calculus to pass AP calculus exams, as well as calculus 1-3 at the local community college.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I have been a classroom high school chemistry teacher for the past four years. I have taught chemistry from 6th grade students, all the way to tutoring classes in organic chemistry in college. I have created lesson plans and instructional materials for high school honors, AP, and IB chemistry
Differential Equations

Differential Equations

I have been a classroom physics teachers for the past three years. I have taught a condensed year AP Physics C with calculus course, I have a BS in physics, a Masters in Education, and I am a graduate PhD student in Physics currently enrolled at UH manoa At my high school I taught an afterschool SAT and ACT section. In undergraduate I worked for Kaplan tutoring both the MCAT and the GRE
Electrical Engineering

Electrical Engineering

I am currently employed at a day job as a Senior Advanced FPGA engineer for General Dynamics. I have also published 1st and 2nd author publications in scientific journals such as JINST and NIM-A. My PhD thesis involved detailed microelectronics PCB design, simulation, prototyping, and verification.
GED

GED

I have been a classroom physics teachers for the past four years. I have helped students prepare for all entry tests and to pass rigorous state qualifying tests for high school diplomas. for the past two years at my high school I have taught after school review sessions helping students prepare to take the GED exam.
Geometry

Geometry

For the past four years I have been in the classroom teaching math and physics. I have helped over hundreds of students understand the importance of geometry in the classroom as well as in the real world. I have helped students with geometry in understanding trig, vectors, as well as real world applications inside and outside of the classroom.
GRE

GRE

I have been a GRE tutor for the past five years. I have helped students in after school review sessions, and designed my own lesson plans for particular topics. I am currently a PhD student and have take the recent GRE tests and studied and taught the updated material within the past six months.
Linear Algebra

Linear Algebra

I have been a AP Physics teacher and adjunct astronomy professor for the past several years. I have created dozens of lesson plans and my own instructional material based on solving problems in linear algebra. Linear algebra type problems show up often in quantum mechanic systems, and I have been extensively tutoring it for the past year to undergraduate students at my local university. At my high school I taught an after school SAT and ACT section. In undergraduate I worked for Kaplan tutoring both the MCAT and the GRE.
