I hold a Master’s Degree and a PhD in Social Work, both from The University of Texas at Arlington, and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). With over 7 years of experience teaching at the university level, I have instructed undergraduate and graduate courses in Social Work at the University of Texas at Arlington and Texas Christian University, with two years as an Assistant Professor of Medical Education at the TCU Burnett School of Medicine.
I have taught a diverse range of courses, including Transition to Residency, Research and Evaluation, Brain and Behavior, Stress, Crisis, and Coping, Human Behavior and the Social Environment, Sports Social Work, Social Work Professionalism and Student Success, and Introduction to Social Work. My students have ranged from late teens in undergraduate programs to adults of all ages pursuing graduate studies.
My teaching approach emphasizes individualized, student-centered learning and activities, alongside the practical application of theoretical concepts. I absolutely love teaching and believe that the key to effective education is to identify each student’s strengths and passions and bring those to life in all they do.
