When it comes to tutoring, my expertise is in Calculus (AP, IB, AB, BC, 1, 2, 3, Multivariable, Vector, Differential, Integral, Series, Sequences). I believe in making math feel less intimidating! My approach is to build a strong visual and intuitive understanding of the concepts first, so things don’t just feel like a bunch of rules to memorize. With that foundation, comes the practice, starting with easier questions and gradually tackling harder ones to make sure no test is an issue. I like to keep the atmosphere relaxed and fun, encouraging questions without hesitation, so everyone feels comfortable and confident while learning.

My tutoring journey began my senior year of high school, where I volunteered to help with the AP Calculus BC course after I scored a 5/5 on the AP exam the previous year. From there, I expanded to tutoring subjects like algebra, precalculus, and the full calculus sequence during my undergrad years. By the time I reached my Master's, I was not only tutoring but also serving as a teaching assistant for calculus courses. Now, as a PhD student, I’m teaching my own calculus classes and still tutoring students across a range of math topics. I’ve worked with students of all ages, from middle schoolers to college students, so I’m comfortable adjusting my teaching style to meet each person’s needs.

I’ve been immersed in mathematics for most of my life, and I absolutely love sharing that passion with others. After completing my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in just two years, graduating magna cum laude and winning the undergraduate math award, I went on to earn a Master’s in Mathematics the following year. Now, I’m working on my PhD in Mathematics, and my love for teaching and tutoring has only grown stronger along the way.

Knowledgeable and Patient!!

Dalton's math knowledge is truly unmatched. My son had been struggling throughout the 2nd half of the last school year with Alg2/Trig, and a few lessons with Dalton not only elevated his final score to a high A but also brought his grade up by a full grade! We are very grateful to have found him and look forward to more lessons with him on a continuing basis.

Expert math teacher for higher-level math - Highly recommended him!

We highly recommend this friendly and knowledgeable tutor. My daughter is taking Calculus BC this year, and while she is a good math student, sometimes the classroom discussion goes by a bit quickly. Dalton is approachable and and very clear in his explanations of sequences and various convergence tests, and checked to make sure that my daughter understood the fundamentals and basis of the topics. My daughter said that lesson points made so much more sense after Dalton's reviews. Dalton was extremely gracious and worked very late (his time) to accommodate our West Coast schedule to offer some "AP Calc Boot Camp" sessions the weekend before the AP test. Besides answering her questions, he also review common mistakes and trick question types on the AP Calc test, and my daughter confirmed that some of the trick questions did show up on her test! She felt very prepared due to her sessions with Dalton. My daughter may be taking multivariable calculus over the summer, or next year, and that is Dalton's specialty. We will definitely reach out for more support as needed in the future.

Great mathematician!

Mr. Dalton P. is a really excellent and extremely knowledgeable tutor for my high schooler daughter. He has the right resources to teach AP Calculus and he simplifies everything in a way it’s effortless to grasp. He’s very patient and his teaching style is really efficient and thorough. He doesn’t move onto the next question until she perfectly understands the concept. My daughter was struggling with calculus for a while and now, she finally understands integrals! We’re also taking SAT Math lessons with him. I’m sure he’ll help my daughter achieve a 5 on the AP exam and a great score on the SAT. I highly recommend!

Knowledgeable and patient!

Dalton and I have met twice so far, each session lasting two hours, and he has a remarkable ability to make time fly. He has also made the concepts we've covered so far incredibly digestible, to the point where I feel confident practicing on my own and truly understanding the material. I'm in need of support for my current college-level Pre-calculus/Trigonometry course, and I genuinely believe that if Dalton were my regular professor, I wouldn't be struggling as much. This really speaks to how comfortable and eager I am to continue receiving his guidance. :)
