I love helping students build confidence and discover that learning doesn't have to feel overwhelming. Whether you're looking for support with American Sign Language (ASL), English language development, reading, homework, or elementary academics, I tailor each lesson to the student's individual strengths, goals, and learning style.

I am a licensed educator with 11 years of experience in education, including 3 years as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) teacher and 8 years as an educational interpreter. I've worked with students from early elementary through high school in both classroom and one-on-one settings, supporting a wide range of learning needs. My background has given me extensive experience helping students strengthen their communication, reading, language, and academic skills while building confidence along the way.

One quality that former coworkers and parents consistently mention is my patience. I understand that every student learns at a different pace, and I believe learning should feel encouraging rather than stressful. I take the time to explain concepts in different ways, celebrate progress, and create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.

As both a former Deaf and Hard of Hearing teacher and an educational interpreter, I bring practical, real-world ASL experience into every lesson. Whether you're learning ASL for school, work, or personal enrichment, I can help you develop clear communication skills while building your understanding of Deaf culture and the language itself.

My teaching style is visual, structured, and flexible. I take the time to understand how each student learns best and adjust my lessons to meet their needs, whether we're working on reading comprehension, homework, study skills, organization, or ASL. My goal is for every student to leave each lesson feeling more confident, capable, and independent than when they arrived.
