I hold a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s degree in educational leadership, and I am certified to teach bilingual elementary students. Over the past eleven years, I have taught in three different school districts, working with students from second through sixth grade. These experiences have allowed me to see the full developmental range of upper elementary students and to adapt my instruction to meet a wide variety of academic and language needs. Throughout my career, my students have consistently shown strong academic growth, reflected in high performance on the STAAR test, which highlights both their hard work and the effectiveness of my teaching strategies.
My teaching philosophy centers on creating thinking classrooms where students are encouraged to engage deeply with content, think outside the box, and collaborate with one another to solve problems. I believe education should never be one-size-fits-all, so I incorporate a variety of approaches, with an emphasis on hands-on activities and real-world applications. By doing so, I help students move beyond rote memorization and develop the critical thinking skills that will serve them well in higher-level learning.
In addition to my classroom teaching, I have provided both small group and one-on-one tutoring support, tailoring instruction to each student’s strengths and needs. I have worked with students as young as seven and as old as twelve, focusing on everything from building strong foundations in multiplication and division to developing advanced problem-solving skills. Whether in a classroom setting, an after-school program, or individual tutoring sessions, my goal has always been to help students master content, grow in confidence, and develop a lasting love for learning.
