I am a passionate reader and strive to help beginning or struggling readers not only improving their reading ability, but learn to love it. I have experience working with students several grades below grade level and bringing them close to or on grade level within a school year. I have also worked teaching chess to students aged 3-13 with a focus on leaning multi step thinking and good sportsmanship.
In addition to reading, I can assist with writing in many forms. I have experience working with beginner writers who need assistance with handwriting, all the way to college essays and writing courses. My approach to writing assistance focuses of building the critical thinking skills needed to be a strong independent writer. Anyone can proof read an essay, but building the skills needed to craft an essay takes time, work, and patience.
