I hold both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Carson-Newman University. My career in public education began with seven years as a special services teacher, where I specialized in creating individualized learning plans, adapting curriculum, and delivering targeted interventions for diverse learners. Following that, I taught 6th grade English Language Arts for four years, and I have just begun my second year teaching 8th grade ELA in the general education classroom. In 2023-24 school year, I was named my school’s Teacher of the Year. Along with classroom teaching, I serve as my school's ELA Department Lead and collaborate on a state level team developing standards aligned instructional focus documents.

My tutoring approach is helping the student gain confidence in the skill they need when it comes to all areas of ELA or an elementary level subject. I focus on breaking down complex reading comprehension, text analysis, and structured writing into clear, manageable steps tailored to each student’s unique learning style. I want to help students close skill gaps, master core standards, and build lasting academic confidence.
