With nearly six years of tutoring experience, I help students excel in mathematics, science, AP coursework, standardized test preparation, and academic writing. My areas of expertise include AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus, AP Statistics, and AP-level English Language and Composition, as well as biology, chemistry, algebra, statistics, calculus, and advanced writing. I work with students from middle school through college, with extensive experience supporting high school students in honors, AP, and college-preparatory courses.

I provide comprehensive ACT and SAT preparation, combining content mastery with effective test-taking strategies. I scored in the 98th percentile on ACT Writing and 91st percentile on ACT Reading, and I help students strengthen rhetorical analysis, argumentation, grammar, organization, reading comprehension, and timed writing. In math and science, I emphasize conceptual understanding, analytical reasoning, and efficient problem-solving rather than memorization alone.

My teaching style is approachable and encouraging while remaining academically rigorous. I tailor instruction to each student's strengths, learning style, and goals, helping students understand not only how to solve a problem, but why the solution works.

I hold an Honors Bachelor's degree in Biology and have pursued graduate-level education through a Master of Business Administration program. My academic background spans biological sciences, quantitative analysis, statistics, research, writing, and business, and includes undergraduate research in developmental learning in biology.

My goal is to build confident, independent learners who are prepared to succeed in challenging courses, AP exams, the ACT and SAT, and future college-level work.

Approved Subjects

ACT English

ACT English

I have 6 years of experience tutoring ACT English, helping students strengthen their grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, rhetoric, and passage-editing skills. I teach students how to quickly recognize common ACT question patterns and apply clear strategies rather than relying on what simply “sounds right.” My approach focuses on understanding the rules behind each answer so students can work more accurately and confidently under timed conditions. I also help students identify their individual weaknesses and develop targeted strategies to improve their ACT English scores.
ACT Math

ACT Math

I have five years of experience teaching and tutoring mathematics, with a strong focus on ACT Math preparation and helping students improve both accuracy and confidence. I specialize in breaking down ACT concepts, including algebra, geometry, functions, statistics, and advanced mathematics into clear, approachable strategies tailored to each student’s learning style. My instruction emphasizes efficient problem-solving, time management, test-taking strategies, and identifying the specific skill gaps that affect a student’s score. I have worked with students across a range of ability levels, helping them strengthen foundational math skills while preparing to approach the ACT with greater speed and confidence.
ACT Science

ACT Science

With over five years of tutoring experience and an Honors Bachelor’s degree in Biology, I help students strengthen the skills and strategies needed to succeed on the ACT Science section. My science background includes extensive coursework in biology and chemistry, allowing me to help students confidently approach scientific passages while focusing on the specific reasoning skills the ACT tests. ACT Science is largely about interpreting information accurately and efficiently under time constraints. I teach students how to analyze graphs and tables, identify trends and relationships between variables, interpret experimental results, evaluate research summaries, compare conflicting scientific viewpoints, and recognize independent and dependent variables, controls, and experimental design. I also emphasize ACT-specific strategy, including how to quickly determine what a question is asking, locate relevant information without unnecessarily reading every detail of a passage, eliminate incorrect answer choices, and manage time effectively. I tailor sessions to each student’s strengths and weaknesses so we can focus on the question types and skills that will have the greatest impact on their score. My goal is to help students develop a clear, repeatable approach to ACT Science so they can work more efficiently, avoid common traps, and enter test day feeling confident and prepared.
Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I have five years of experience tutoring algebra at all levels, from foundational Pre-Algebra and Algebra I through Algebra II and advanced coursework. I help students strengthen their understanding of equations, inequalities, functions, polynomials, factoring, systems of equations, and other essential algebraic concepts. My approach focuses on breaking challenging problems into clear, manageable steps while helping students understand the reasoning behind each solution. I tailor instruction to each student’s learning style and goals, whether they are building foundational skills, improving their grades, or preparing for standardized exams.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I have 6 years of experience tutoring Algebra, including Algebra 2 and Algebra 2 Honors, with students at a variety of skill levels. I help students strengthen their understanding of equations, functions, polynomials, logarithms, exponents, complex numbers, and other advanced algebra concepts. My approach focuses on breaking challenging problems into clear, manageable steps while helping students understand why each method works. I also provide support with homework, test preparation, and building the problem-solving skills students need to become more confident and independent in math.
Biology

Biology

I hold an Honors Bachelor’s degree in Biology and have five years of experience tutoring biology, including AP Biology and advanced high school coursework. My academic background provides a strong foundation in cellular biology, genetics, evolution, ecology, molecular biology, physiology, and other core concepts emphasized in the AP Biology curriculum. I help students move beyond memorization by developing the analytical, data-interpretation, and scientific reasoning skills needed for challenging coursework and AP-style questions. My tutoring is tailored to each student’s needs, whether they are strengthening difficult concepts, preparing for unit exams, or working toward success on the AP Biology exam.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

With over five years of math tutoring experience, I help students build a strong foundation in Prealgebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Honors Algebra, and other middle and high school mathematics courses. I work with students at a variety of skill levels, from those who need additional support with foundational concepts to advanced students preparing for honors-level coursework, standardized tests, and higher-level mathematics. My tutoring covers topics including equations and inequalities, functions, graphing, systems of equations, exponents and radicals, polynomials, factoring, rational expressions, quadratic equations, proportions, probability, word problems, and more. I focus on helping students understand *why* a mathematical process works rather than simply memorizing steps or formulas. Every student learns differently, so I tailor sessions to the student’s current coursework, learning style, and goals. I can help with homework, test and quiz preparation, reviewing difficult concepts, filling gaps from previous courses, or getting ahead in an upcoming unit. My goal is to make math feel more manageable and approachable while helping students develop stronger problem-solving skills and confidence. Whether a student is struggling with the basics or looking to excel in an honors-level course, I provide patient, encouraging, and individualized instruction designed to help them become more independent and successful math students.
SAT Math

SAT Math

With over five years of tutoring and standardized test preparation experience, I help students approach the SAT with a combination of strong content knowledge, targeted test-taking strategies, and confidence under timed conditions. I work with students across SAT Math and Reading and Writing, tailoring each preparation plan to the student’s starting score, strengths, areas for improvement, and target score. My SAT preparation focuses on more than simply completing practice questions. I help students understand the concepts behind each question type while learning how to recognize patterns, eliminate incorrect answers, manage time effectively, and approach unfamiliar problems strategically. In SAT Math, I support students with algebra, advanced math, problem-solving and data analysis, geometry, and trigonometry. For Reading and Writing, I focus on grammar, rhetorical analysis, vocabulary in context, evidence-based reasoning, and efficient passage and question strategies. I also help students become comfortable with the digital SAT format, including developing effective strategies for navigating the adaptive test and using tools such as Desmos efficiently when appropriate. Practice problems and test results can be used to identify recurring weaknesses so that our sessions remain focused on the areas most likely to improve a student’s performance. Every student begins SAT preparation at a different level, so I believe preparation should be individualized rather than one-size-fits-all. Whether a student is preparing for the SAT for the first time, working toward a competitive score, or trying to improve a previous result, my goal is to provide structured, encouraging preparation that helps them walk into test day feeling prepared and confident.
