I am a Nashville native and love teaching! I attended Belmont University for my master’s degree in art of teaching and have taught in Nashville/ Franklin for 11 years. I have training and experience teaching multiple curriculums from public school common core to Christian private school/ homeschool curriculums. I have also taught students with many learning abilities and have experience differentiating content to meet a student's needs.
My passion for teaching is rooted in showing students what they are capable of and empowering them to take ownership over their learning. I love watching students light up when they finally accomplish something they didn't think was possible. I also believe that learning should be fun and engaging at every age. When students are captivated, they lose their anxiety and negative attitudes towards learning, so I used games, hands-on materials, and relatable content to keep the student connected to their goals.
A guardian and teacher relationship is very important to me. It takes a team to educate a child, so I expect honesty and transparent conversations about a student's goals and learning skills. I want our first session to be a group meeting where we talk about a student's past learning experience and current goals or expectations for tutoring. When we work together, progress can be made!
I look forward to connecting to see if we make a great team to help your students meet their goals!
