Hi, I’m Amber Q. I have been teaching voice for nearly two decades. I got into teaching as a teenager when I auditioned as a singer for a pop group and got the gig! I ended up moving from my small town to the big city. My record label was also a music school and there I studied pop singing for the first time. I trained, interned and eventually became a vocal coach at the school where I gained much experience. Next, my singing career brought me to Hollywood where I got another record deal. I continued teaching voice as a private teacher. I also gave singing seminars to large groups at acting schools and performing arts centers. Through the years I have worked with students of all ages and skill levels in the genres of pop, rock, r&b, jazz, country and even metal. I’ve had celebrity students in bands like Maroon 5, Weezer, Local Natives and Rilo Kiley. All the while, I continued my own training in the various methods of pop singing. As a singer, my music has been featured in TV shows like HBO’s Looking, NBC’s Parenthood and MTV’s Awkward as well as national commercials for brands like Fiat, Western Digital and Kellogg’s. These days, I live out in the country on my organic farm but I still offer online vocal lessons to singers all around the world!
